The controversy emanated from the remarks made by the Green Bay Packers player while having an interview on “The Pivot” on December 19. In response to co-host Channing Crowder’s question about how he managed to win over Simone Biles, Jonathan Owens stated, “It’s really how she pulled me.”
Detailing the origins of their relationship, the couple, who commenced dating in August 2020, initially connected on the dating app Raya. Owens admitted that he “didn’t know who she was” at the time, underscoring his previous lack of attention to gymnastics.
