Insomniac Games future games leaked online by Hackers

PlayStation Studios’ well-known game developer Insomniac Games is dealing with a serious security breach after hackers exposed the company’s 2032 game plans. Refusing a ransom by the PlayStation was probably the reason for hackers to resort to the breach.

A ransomware group known as Rhysida is alleged to have released 1.67 gigabytes of internal data, including more than 1.3 million files, that were taken from Insomniac, the Sony-owned company known for games like Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man 2.

At first, Sony was asked to pay the hackers—known as Rhysida—$2 million in exchange for the leaked data. Cyber Daily said that following its admission of responsibility for the hack last week, it quickly made the data available online, just a few minutes of passing of its week’s deadline.

Personal employee information, corporate correspondence, and detailed information about Insomniac’s planned titles are all included in the hacked material. Videos, storylines, and in-depth information about the game design have quickly gone viral on social media.

The games that were leaked from Insomniac libraries include:

Venom Spin-off which the company was supposed to release in 2025. Described as a side game akin to Miles Morales, players would assume the roles of Venom and other unidentified characters, interacting with Carnage and putting an end to rumors that Spider-Man 2 may get an expansion.

2026’s Wolverine is expected to arrive in theatres a little later than fans had predicted.

Spider-Man 3 is scheduled to be released in late 2028. There’s a chance the movie will be split into two halves.

Titled “Rag Tag Team,” Ratchet & Clank scheduled for 2029 is a game that focuses on Spider-Man 3. Although there are few details, it seems to involve Ratchet, Clank, Rivet, and Kit working together, reiterating the partnership that was hinted at at the conclusion of Rift Apart.

Spider-Man: The Great Web has an unknown release date. The company had already confirmed this multiplayer project.

Planned for 2030, just four years after the release of the Wolverine game, an X-Men game seems to be in the works. Additionally, documents suggest a new IP between 2030 and 2032, providing a welcome departure after an extensive focus on Marvel titles.

This leak stands as one of the most significant breaches in the gaming industry since the early gameplay reveal of GTA 6 in 2022.
