Xiaomi offers Pro-Level Features in Watch 2 pro
With the upcoming introduction of the attractive Xiaomi Watch 2 wristwatch—a serious competitor to its more costly sibling, the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro—the company intends to expand the range of wearable technologies that it offers. Spotted in various European retailers, this device features a vibrant 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 × 466 pixels, housed in a 46mm aluminum case, distinguishing itself from the Pro model’s stainless-steel construction. Available in classic black and silver, the Xiaomi Watch 2 comes with a comfortable TPU band for both style and comfort.
Under the hood, the Xiaomi Watch 2 is geared towards health and fitness enthusiasts, equipped with heart rate and blood oxygen monitors, inbuilt GPS, and a water resistance rating of 5 ATM, making it suitable for active pursuits. With a remarkable 65-hour battery life and dependable performance, the Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset ensures that users remain connected and productive all day. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi, and NFC, although it lacks the LTE connectivity present in its Pro counterpart.
Despite not being officially announced by Xiaomi, the Xiaomi Watch 2 has been spotted at European retailers, according to reports. Speculations suggest it will run on Google’s Wear OS, available in black and silver color options. The reported prices at offline retailers in Belgium and Slovakia range from EUR 200 to EUR 250, potentially positioning it as a more affordable option compared to the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro.
The rumored specifications of the Xiaomi Watch 2 include a 1.43-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and an always-on display mode. It is said to be powered by the quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon W5+ Gen 1 chipset, offering a battery life of up to 65 hours. The smartwatch is expected to be 5ATM water-resistant, featuring 150 sports modes and various health sensors such as a sleep monitor, SpO2 sensor, heart-rate monitor, and step counter.
If the reports about its operating system, Wear OS, are accurate, the Xiaomi Watch 2 will feature apps like Google Wallet, Google Maps, the Play Store, and more. Connectivity options are expected to include Bluetooth 5.2, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS, and GNSS sensors. Notably, the key differences from the Pro model lie in the absence of an LTE variant and an aluminum body instead of the stainless steel used in the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro. With its feature-rich specifications and competitive pricing, the Xiaomi Watch 2 aims to provide a valuable and performance-oriented option for tech-savvy consumers seeking a versatile smartwatch.
