Drastic Side Effects E-cigarettes Have on All

Most people are aware of the Side Effects E-cigarettes (or vapes, as it is called) can have on human health and the dangers associated with them. For those who don’t know much about it, it is a sort of device that contains a liquid inside it and that has the capacity to heat and produce vapor out of it. The solution that is used here is glycerine, nicotine and added flavors. The aerosol which it is known as is then inhaled by the user and thus the Side Effects E-cigarettes can have is that the person gets intoxicated.

Vaping and its implications on health

Till some time, it was considered that vaping is harmless and an alternative to smoking. However, as per recent research in the United States, there is a direct relationship between vaping and heart condition. Thus, the Side Effects E-cigarettes can have on the human body are profound and direct. It is said that those who have indulged in vaping during their lifetime can be susceptible to a 19% higher risk of getting heart failure in their lives.

As per the study lead author, Dr. Yakubu-Alhasan, “More and more studies are linking e-cigarettes to harmful effects and finding that it might not be as safe as previously thought.” Dr. Yakubu, the resident physician at MedStar Health in Baltimore adds, “The difference we saw was substantial. It’s worth considering the consequences to your health, especially with regard to heart health.”

But the question arises as to why and how exactly the activity of vaping impacts the heart of the individual! For that, we need to know what exactly is a heart failure. Heart failure occurs when the muscles of the heart become weak or stiff and are therefore unable to pump blood to the entire body, as in the normal condition the heart does.

This is explained by Dr. Nishith Chandra, the Principal Director of interventional Cardiology, at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute, Delhi, India. He says, “Nicotine in the vaping solution increases your heart rate and blood pressure, stressing your heart with long use. It constricts your blood vessels, makes them less flexible and stiffens them up as in fibrosis”.

Vaping: Not a Guaranteed Aid for Quitting Smoking

Though these e-cigarettes were supposed to be the alternative to smoking addictions, this has turned out to be far away from the truth. There have been instances where regular smokers are been using these vapes along with regular smoking, which has not helped matters at all. In fact, the Side Effects E-cigarettes have had on humans have actually canceled away the positive effects (if there were any) and the whole purpose of introducing the e-cigarettes is wasted.

This is not the only factor that makes these vapes less beneficial in curbing smoking. The flip side is that many youngsters are lured to the flavored vapes from the market, who are otherwise non-smokers and thus devoid of any ill effects of smoking. But with the introduction of these vapes, they anyhow get entrapped into this habit, though involuntarily and due to the absence of any proper guidance. In fact, as per a study in the United States, e-cigarettes have emerged as the most prevalent substance that contains tobacco among the young generation and students

New Study Highlights Risks Associated with Vaping

As part of a study, 1,70,000 people were studied by scientists for about four years. Out of these, 3,242 people were observed to have developed heart failure. What’s interesting to note is that people who used to vape were 19% more likely to have this problem compared to those who didn’t vape at all. Therefore, the Side Effects E-cigarettes have on the heart have proved to be fatal for the average person indulging in vaping. To get accurate results, the scientists kept other details like their past smoking and eating habits in mind, which directly can impact heart health

The Side Effects E-cigarettes Have on the Heart Health

Furthermore, the study unveiled that the Side Effects E-cigarettes generate on the human heart is that these vapes have heightened the risk of a specific type of heart failure known as HFpEF. In this condition, the heart muscles become rigid, impeding proper filling between beats. Dr. Chandra further explains, “The heart is deprived of the opportunity to relax. Regular vaping damages the linings of blood vessels impedes the formation of new blood vessels and triggers inflammation. This elevates the risk of both heart attacks and strokes.” In conclusion, it can be safely said that the Side Effects E-cigarettes have on humans are fatal for the healthy heart and can quickly deteriorate the health conditions of a non-smoker vaping guy.
